Valley Hope Church: A Church Planting Story

God has placed a burden on our hearts to see the people of Utah reached with the hope of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Utah is a unique mission field. It is a place with a strong religious heritage, growing communities, and thousands of people who are searching for identity, purpose, and hope. While many are familiar with religious language, many have never encountered the transforming truth of the gospel found in Scripture: that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

Valley Hope Church was born out of a desire to plant a gospel-centered, Bible-teaching church in Vineyard, Utah, where people from every background can encounter Jesus, belong to a Christ-centered community, and be equipped to live on mission.

Why Valley Hope Exists

We believe every community needs a faithful local church committed to proclaiming the Word of God, making disciples, and displaying the love of Christ.

Valley Hope Church exists to glorify God by making disciples who are:

SEEK — Seeking God’s presence through worship, prayer, fellowship, and a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

SANCTIFY — Growing in spiritual maturity through the faithful teaching of Scripture and intentional discipleship.

SURRENDER — Living lives surrendered to Christ through humble service, generosity, and love for others.

SEND — Going into our communities and the world as faithful ambassadors of the gospel.

Our mission is to be a church on mission—rooted in Christ and reaching the world.

The Need for a Gospel-Centered Church Plant

The population growth throughout Utah County has created an incredible opportunity for gospel ministry. New families, young professionals, and individuals from diverse backgrounds are moving into the area seeking community and connection.

Many people in Utah are spiritually searching but have never experienced a church that clearly teaches the Bible, faithfully proclaims the gospel, and welcomes people regardless of their background or past.

Valley Hope Church seeks to be a place where:

  • Those far from God can hear the good news of Jesus Christ.

  • Those who are hurting can experience the healing found in the gospel.

  • Those who have questions can explore faith in a welcoming environment.

  • Believers can grow as disciples and be equipped to make disciples.

We are committed to preaching Christ faithfully, teaching verse-by-verse through Scripture, and building a church culture centered on grace, truth, and authentic community.

Our Church Planting Strategy

Valley Hope Church is committed to establishing a sustainable, reproducing church that will faithfully serve the Vineyard community and multiply gospel impact throughout Utah.

Our strategy includes:

Gospel-Centered Worship

  • Weekly gatherings centered on biblical preaching, worship, prayer, and fellowship.

  • Creating an environment where guests encounter the truth and beauty of the gospel.

Intentional Discipleship

  • Building pathways for believers to grow spiritually.

  • Developing small groups and relational environments where people can study Scripture and encourage one another.

Community Engagement

  • Serving our neighbors through tangible expressions of Christ’s love.

  • Building relationships throughout Vineyard and surrounding communities.

Leadership Development

  • Raising up faithful leaders who can serve the church and advance the gospel.

  • Creating a culture where every believer understands their role in God’s mission.

A Partnership Opportunity

Valley Hope Church recognizes that church planting is a kingdom effort that requires partnership. We are grateful for the support of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Utah-Idaho Southern Baptist Convention, Send Network, and churches across the country who believe in reaching communities with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Through prayer, encouragement, financial support, and ministry partnership, churches can join us in seeing lives transformed by the power of the gospel.

Our prayer is that Valley Hope Church would become a faithful gospel presence in Utah County, a church that proclaims Christ, makes disciples, sends believers on mission, and helps plant future churches.

Together, we believe God can bring hope to Utah through the local church.
